Resident Rights

Dear Residents and Families,

You may have seen recent media coverage and public discussion about labour negotiations between CUPE and long-term care employers in Nova Scotia. We wanted to reach out directly to reassure you that our focus remains on the safety, care, and wellbeing of your loved ones.

We understand that situations like this can create uncertainty for residents and families, particularly when there is a great deal of public discussion and commentary. Please know that our team is planning carefully and remains focused on providing safe, dependable, respectful care every day.

Like other long-term care providers in Nova Scotia, we are monitoring developments closely. We respect the bargaining process and the important work of frontline staff. At the same time, our responsibility is clear: to ensure residents continue to receive the care and support they need, without interruption.

As part of that responsibility, operational contingency planning is required. Our team is putting those plans in place to support continuity of care and day-to-day operations in the event of any labour disruption. This is a standard part of responsible preparation, and it is intended to ensure that resident care remains stable and
supported.

At this time, there is no change to the care we are providing to residents. If there are any confirmed changes that could affect residents, families, or visiting, we will communicate with you directly.

Thank you for your confidence in our team and for the trust you place in us to care for your loved ones.
