Volunteering is an immeasurable force which impacts our residents deeply. Glen Haven would not be able to be held at the highest standard without them. They ensure we can operate and offer our residents the best quality programming available.

Volunteers help us strive to our goal of being Nova Scotia’s premiere resident and family centered care provider. We are honored that we have the privilege of our volunteers sharing their invaluable free time to our organization. Glen Haven Manor wants to attract a variety of volunteers. We want to provide exciting, innovative programs to our residents. We are looking for individuals who match these ideals, who want to make an impact on seniors within their community.

Why volunteer with Glen Haven Manor?

By becoming a volunteer with Glen Haven Manor, you have the ability to share your talents and time with our residents.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and would like more information, please visit the Apply/Contact us section to view the application process.

The process includes the completion of an application form, interview and screenings, orientation and training.

You must be at least 16 years old in order to volunteer with Glen Haven Manor; however, some positions can accommodate younger children as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

You can volunteer at any time of the week, day or evening, as well as weekends too. Depending on what you want to do.

If, for whatever reasons, you are unable to continue volunteering Glen Haven Manor requires a written letter of resignation. You may be required to complete an exit interview.
This allows the volunteer to state reasons for leaving and reflects upon their experience during their commitment.

Your commitment to a particular volunteer position depends entirely upon your circumstances, interests, and the length of time you are available.

There are many volunteer opportunities that do not require you to be available during regular business hours. We offer evening and weekend programming.

Please note volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, and a vulnerable sector check is to accompany all applications
